What Are Xiaomi cars?
Xiaomi announced its electric car business on March 30, 2021, and Xiaomi Automobile Co. was set up that September. Founder Lei Jun leads it as CEO, while the parent company, Xiaomi Corporation, trades in Hong Kong as 1810.
Xiaomi cars are built at the company’s own factory in Beijing’s Yizhuang district, which has two phases of 150,000 cars a year each. Early SU7s were built under BAIC’s production license until Xiaomi got its own in July 2024.
Growth has been fast. Xiaomi delivered 139,487 cars in 2024 and 411,837 in 2025, so it beat its 350,000 target. However, 2026 is tougher: by the end of September it had delivered 286,490, which is just over half of its 550,000 goal.
