What Is W Motors?
W Motors is a private carmaker that Ralph Debbas launched in Beirut in July 2012. Then it moved its base to Dubai in early 2013, the same year the Lykan HyperSport made its debut at the Qatar Motor Show.
The Lykan became famous because it was a hero car in Furious 7 in 2015. For example, it’s the car that jumps between the Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi. However, the film used stunt versions, not the seven road cars.
Since then, the company has moved beyond hypercars. It builds the Ghiath police SUV for Dubai Police, worked with China’s ICONIQ Motors on the MUSE self-driving car, and opened its own Dubai factory in October 2024. As a result, it now also offers contract manufacturing for other carmakers.
