1. Respect Other Members

Members come to AutoGathering with different vehicles, budgets, experience and opinions. Debate is welcome, but it must remain civil. You must not:

  • Insult, harass, bully, threaten or intimidate any person, or encourage others to do so;
  • Post content that attacks or demeans any person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability or any other protected characteristic;
  • Follow, contact or message a member who has asked you to stop, or create new accounts to continue contact;
  • Impersonate another member, a public figure, a manufacturer, a dealer, a racing organization or AutoGathering staff; or
  • Disrupt discussions through deliberate provocation, repeated off-topic posting or baiting other members.

Criticize the vehicle, not the owner. Members are free to dislike a brand, a model or a modification, but personal attacks on the people who own or prefer them are not permitted.

2. Safety and the Law

AutoGathering supports enthusiast driving in safe and lawful settings, such as closed courses, track days and sanctioned motorsport events. You must not post content that:

  • Promotes, organizes or glorifies street racing, stunt driving or dangerous driving on public roads;
  • Shows or encourages evading police, avoiding speed enforcement through unlawful means or driving while impaired;
  • Explains how to defeat emissions controls, airbags, braking systems or other safety equipment in violation of applicable law;
  • Explains how to alter odometers or vehicle identification numbers (VINs), steal vehicles or parts, or bypass anti-theft systems; or
  • Otherwise promotes or provides instructions for illegal activity.

Technical discussions of maintenance, repair and lawful modification are welcome. When sharing how-to information, members are encouraged to note relevant safety precautions and to recommend a qualified technician for work that carries significant risk.

3. Respect Privacy

You must not share another person’s personal information without their consent. This includes:

  • Home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, workplace details or financial information;
  • License plates or vehicle identification numbers shown in a way that identifies a private individual, together with information about where they live or what they do;
  • Private messages or conversations from AutoGathering or elsewhere, published without the consent of the other participants; and
  • Photos or videos of private individuals posted to mock, shame or expose them.

We recommend blurring license plates and removing location data from photos before you upload them. For information on how we handle your own personal information, please see our Privacy Policy.

4. Content Standards

  • Post only content you have the right to share. Upload photos and videos you created or have permission to use, and credit the source when sharing someone else’s work under a license that allows it. Do not copy articles, reviews or guides from other websites in full; share a short summary and a link instead.
  • Be honest. Reviews, ownership experiences and claims about vehicles, businesses or people must reflect your genuine experience. Do not post fake reviews, misleading specifications or fabricated news.
  • Disclose your interests. If you work for, are paid by or receive free products from a manufacturer, dealer, shop or brand you are discussing, you must say so clearly in your post.
  • Keep it appropriate. Sexually explicit content, graphic violence, gore and shocking imagery are not permitted. Images of collisions and their aftermath may be shared for legitimate discussion, such as safety or repair, provided they do not show injured persons.
  • Stay on topic. Post in the group or discussion where your content belongs, and keep conversations focused on vehicles, motorsport and related subjects. Political and religious debates are not the purpose of the community.
  • Keep usernames and profiles appropriate. Usernames, display names, profile photos and cover images are subject to the same standards as all other content.

5. Promotion and Spam

Members may mention their own builds, channels or projects when it is relevant to a discussion. However, you must not:

  • Post advertising, sponsored content, affiliate links or business promotions without our prior written approval;
  • Send unsolicited promotional messages to other members;
  • Post the same content repeatedly or across multiple groups;
  • Use automated tools, bots or multiple accounts to post content, inflate engagement or influence discussions; or
  • Post links to malware, phishing websites or other harmful content.

Businesses that wish to advertise or partner with AutoGathering may contact us through our contact page.

6. Buying, Selling and Meeting in Person

AutoGathering does not currently operate a marketplace and does not take part in, verify or guarantee any transaction between members. If you choose to buy, sell or trade vehicles, parts or services with another member, the transaction is solely between you and that member. You must not:

  • List or offer stolen goods, counterfeit parts, weapons, drugs or any item that is illegal to sell;
  • Misrepresent the condition, history or ownership of a vehicle or part; or
  • Request payment for goods or services you do not intend to provide.

When meeting other members in person, whether to complete a transaction or attend a meetup, choose a public place, tell someone where you will be and use secure payment methods. Events arranged by members are not organized by AutoGathering unless we state otherwise. See Sections 11 and 12 of our Terms of Use for more information.

7. Reporting Violations

If you see content or behavior that violates these Rules, please report it to support@autogathering.com. Include the web address (URL) of the content, the username of the member involved and a short description of the problem. Do not respond to the violation in public or retaliate against the member, as this can escalate the situation.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Copyright complaints should follow the process described in Section 9 of our Terms of Use.

Reports are confidential. We do not tell the reported member who submitted a report. Knowingly filing false or abusive reports is itself a violation of these Rules.

8. Moderation and Enforcement

AutoGathering may review content and member activity to enforce these Rules and our Terms of Use. Depending on the severity and frequency of a violation, we may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Edit or remove content that violates these Rules;
  • Issue a warning to the member explaining the violation;
  • Restrict features, such as posting, commenting, messaging or joining groups, for a period of time;
  • Suspend the account temporarily; or
  • Permanently ban the account and any related accounts.

Serious violations, including threats of violence, sharing another person’s personal information, illegal content or spam operations, may result in an immediate permanent ban without prior warning. We may also report unlawful content to the appropriate authorities. Members who are banned may not create new accounts.

Appeals

If you believe an action was taken against your account in error, you may email support@autogathering.com within thirty (30) days of the action, from the address associated with your account. Please explain why you believe the decision should be reviewed. We will review appeals in good faith, and our decision following an appeal is final.

Changes to These Rules

We may update these Rules from time to time as the community grows. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, may post a notice on the Services. Continued participation after an update means you accept the revised Rules. These Rules are not an exhaustive list, and we may take action on conduct that is harmful to the community even if it is not specifically described here.
