Above all, the BE 6 was revealed in November 2024 on Mahindra’s INGLO electric platform. In fact, it scored 31.97 out of 32 for adult safety in Bharat NCAP.

What Are Mahindra SUVs?
Mahindra was founded in Ludhiana in 1945 as Mahindra & Mohammed, and it was renamed Mahindra & Mahindra in 1948. At first, it assembled Willys Jeeps under licence. Then the Bolero of 2000 and the Scorpio of 2002 made Mahindra a major SUV maker.
Later, Mahindra bought electric car maker REVA in 2010 and Korea’s SsangYong in 2011, although it gave up SsangYong in 2022. In addition, it bought the Italian design house Pininfarina in 2015, and it was a founding team in Formula E in 2014.
Today Mahindra SUVs are among India’s best sellers, with a record 660,276 sold at home in the 2026 financial year. Meanwhile, its electric models, the BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S, passed 100,000 billings in 2026.

Mahindra SUVs grew out of a post-war Jeep business into one of India’s biggest vehicle makers.
- 1945 First, Mahindra & Mohammed is founded in Ludhiana.
- 1948 Then the company is renamed Mahindra & Mahindra and starts assembling Willys Jeeps.
- 2000 The Bolero is launched.
- 2002 Later, the Scorpio goes on sale.
- 2010 Mahindra buys REVA and launches the first Thar.
- 2011 Meanwhile, Mahindra takes control of SsangYong, and the XUV500 is launched.
- 2014 Mahindra Racing joins the first Formula E season.
- 2015 Mahindra buys Pininfarina.
- 2020 Then the new Thar arrives.
- 2022 The Scorpio-N is revealed, while SsangYong passes to a new owner.
- 2024 After that, the Thar Roxx goes on sale, and the BE 6 and XEV 9e are revealed.
- 2026 Finally, the XUV 7XO and XEV 9S arrive, and Mahindra wins two Formula E races.

Later, the XUV500 was Mahindra’s first modern monocoque SUV. Later, it was replaced by the XUV700.

Finally, the Battista was built by Automobili Pininfarina, a Mahindra company. With about 1,900 hp, it is one of the most powerful road cars ever made.

Mahindra Racing History
Mahindra Racing was one of the founding teams of Formula E in 2014. Then Felix Rosenqvist gave the team its first win in Berlin in 2017. Later, Nyck de Vries won in Monaco and Tokyo in 2026, and the team finished third in the 2025–26 teams’ championship. In addition, Mahindra built Moto3 bikes, which won three races in 2016.
