About AutoGathering

What is AutoGathering?

AutoGathering is a home for people who love all things automotive and on wheels. On one side, you get in-depth research: manufacturer histories and lineups, racing circuit guides from around the world, news and blog posts. On the other, there’s a free community where enthusiasts can build a profile, join groups and swap stories with car people from other countries. Read more about us.

Is AutoGathering free?

Yes. Reading the site is free, and so is joining the community. You don’t need an account to read any of our research pages, guides or articles.

Is AutoGathering affiliated with any car manufacturer?

No. We’re an independent site. Brand and model names show up because that’s what we write about, not because any automaker sponsors or approves our pages.

Who writes the content?

Our articles are researched and written by the AutoGathering team and carry the “AutoGathering Staff” byline. We pull from manufacturer press material, official specifications, racing bodies and other published sources, and we credit photos at the bottom of each page.

Research and Guides

What will I find on a manufacturer page?

Each manufacturer page covers the brand’s current lineup, its history and heritage, who owns it and which brands it’s related to, plus its biggest achievements and racing record. Think of it as the one page you’d want before shopping for, or arguing about, a brand.

I can’t find a brand or model I’m looking for. Will you add it?

Probably. We’re adding and rebuilding manufacturer pages all the time, and in-depth model pages are on the way. If there’s a brand you want to see sooner, email support@autogathering.com and let us know.

Where are the racing circuit guides?

Head to Racing Circuits of the World. Circuits are grouped by region (North America, Europe, South America, Asia and the Middle East, Oceania and Africa), and the featured circuits have full guides covering the layout, history, famous races and tips for visiting.

How accurate are the specs and details?

We work hard to get them right, but specs, prices, recalls and event dates change often and can vary by country. Treat our pages as a strong starting point, and double-check anything important with the manufacturer, a dealer or the event organizer before you rely on it.

I spotted a mistake. How do I report it?

Thanks for catching it! Email support@autogathering.com with the page link and what needs fixing. If you have a source, include it, as that helps us correct things faster.

Can I use your articles or photos on my own site?

You’re welcome to share a link to any page. Copying our articles, or republishing them in full, needs our written permission. Many photos belong to other photographers and are used under their licenses, so check the photo credits at the bottom of the page before reusing an image. Our Terms of Use have the details.

Your Account

How do I join?

Click Join free, pick a username, enter your email address and choose a password that’s at least 10 characters long. We’ll email you an activation link, and once you click it your account is ready to go. You need to be at least 13 to join.

I didn’t get my activation email. What now?

Give it a few minutes, then check your spam or junk folder, since activation emails sometimes land there. Still nothing? Email support@autogathering.com from the address you signed up with and we’ll sort it out.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Go to the password reset page, enter your username or email address, and we’ll send you a link to set a new password.

How do I change my profile photo or details?

Sign in, open your profile and choose Edit to update your profile details, or Change Profile Photo to upload a new picture. You can add a cover image from the same menu.

How do I change my email address or password?

Sign in, open your profile and go to Settings. Under General, you can update your email address and password. You’ll need your current password to save the changes.

Can I control which emails I get?

Yes. In your profile Settings, open Email to choose which notifications you get, such as friend requests, messages and group activity. Account emails like password resets will still come through.

How do I delete my account?

Open your profile Settings and choose Delete Account. This removes your profile and the content tied to it, and it can’t be undone. If you’d rather we handle it, email support@autogathering.com from the address on your account.

The Community

What can I do in the community?

Once you’re a member, you can set up a profile, add friends, post updates to the activity feed, join or start groups around a brand, a car or a local scene, and send private messages to other members. You can browse everyone on the Members page.

Can I start my own group?

Yes. Any member can create a group, whether it’s for a model, a club, a region or a track-day crew. You choose whether it’s public, private or hidden, and you can manage who joins.

Who can see what I post?

Your profile, activity updates and posts in public groups can be seen by other members and, in most cases, by anyone visiting the site. Private and hidden groups are limited to their members, and private messages are only visible to the people in the conversation. Your email address is never shown publicly.

What are the community rules?

The short version: respect other members, keep driving content safe and legal, don’t share other people’s personal information and don’t spam. The full version lives in our Community Rules.

Can I buy or sell cars and parts here?

We don’t run a marketplace right now. If you strike a deal with another member, it’s strictly between the two of you, so meet in a public place, use a secure payment method and trust your gut.

Privacy and Safety

Do you sell my data?

No. We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how you can see, change or delete it.

Do you use cookies?

Yes, a few. They keep you signed in, protect the site from bots and help us count visits so we know which pages people read. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, although you’ll need them turned on to stay signed in. The full list is in our Privacy Policy.

How do I report a member or a post?

Email support@autogathering.com with a link to the post or profile, the member’s username and a short note on what’s wrong. Reports are confidential, so the member won’t find out who flagged them. If someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency services first.

Someone posted a photo of my car with my license plate. Can you take it down?

Yes. Posting a plate in a way that identifies a private person breaks our Community Rules. Send the link to support@autogathering.com and we’ll review it.
