One World, a Thousand Car Cultures

They say the world has gotten smaller and everything’s connected now. But if you’re a car enthusiast, it doesn’t always feel that way. Car people still tend to live in separate pockets based on where they happen to be. Kei cars and drift culture in Japan, V8s and drag strips in America, rally legends in Scandinavia, hot hatches and B-road blasts in Britain: each scene has its own heroes, its own language and its own stories.

We want to break down those walls. AutoGathering is a place where someone in Vancouver can learn why a car is a legend in São Paulo, where a Porsche fan can swap notes with a Proton owner, and where everyone gets to enjoy the car cultures of the rest of the world, not just their own.

That’s the “gathering” in AutoGathering: one meeting point for all things automotive and on wheels.

Keep up with automotive news and racing series, and dig into our blog for deep dives on how engines, tires and the rest of your car actually work.

Get to Know Each Other

We strongly believe that when people get to know each other, the bond gets that much stronger. That’s why AutoGathering is built around real members, not anonymous drive-bys.

Create a free account, set up your profile and tell everyone what you’re passionate about, whether that’s the project car in your garage or the dream car on your wall. From there, you can add friends, post to the activity feed, send messages and join or start groups around a brand, a model, a club or your local scene.

When people get to know each other, the bond gets that much stronger.

Our Community Rules keep things friendly and safe, so you can argue about which generation is best without anyone getting personal.

We’re Historians and Storytellers

Our mission is to bring together the facts about every manufacturer and every model ever built, with plenty of fun and neat stories thrown in along the way. Spec sheets tell you what a car is; the stories tell you why people still talk about it decades later.

We’re always updating what we publish. Lineups change, companies get bought and sold, and new records get set every season, so we keep revisiting our pages to keep them current. If you spot something that’s out of date or just plain wrong, let us know and we’ll fix it.

How we work

  • IndependentNo automaker approves our pagesWe’re not affiliated with any manufacturer, so we can tell you what’s great about a car and what isn’t.
  • ResearchedReal sources, creditedWe build our pages from official specifications, manufacturer press material, racing bodies and other published sources, and we credit every photo.
  • Always currentPages get revisitedWhen a lineup changes or a record falls, we go back and update the page instead of leaving it to go stale.
  • Community-poweredMembers make it betterCorrections, tips and owner experiences from members help make every page more useful.

Make Your Next Car Decision a Smarter One

Shopping for your next car, or hunting down parts for the one you already have? Between our research pages and the knowledge of members who actually own and wrench on these cars, you can get the full picture before you spend a dime: what a model does well, what tends to go wrong, and what owners wish they’d known before buying.

We’re building more tools to help, including model guides by generation with recalls and safety ratings, so the right answer is always a few clicks away.

Good to know: our pages are a strong starting point, but always confirm important details like specs, prices and recalls with the manufacturer, a dealer or a qualified technician before you buy.

Join the Gathering

We hope you’ll join us and help make AutoGathering the amazing place we know it can be. It’s free, it takes a minute, and there’s a whole world of car people waiting to meet you.
